2006 AL MVP Justin Morneau to Rehab at ARM & HAMMER Park

Colorado Rockies 1B and 2006 American League MVP Award Winner, Justin Morneau, will be at ARM & HAMMER Park with the New Britain Rock Cats as they open their four-game series with the Thunder tonight at 7:00pm. Morneau, who is recovering from whiplash and a concussion suffered on May 13 in Anaheim, is expected to play in Monday night’s series-opener.

Morneau spent the first 11 seasons of his major league career with the Minnesota Twins where he was named to four American league All-Star teams and earned the 2006 AL MVP Award. In 2006, he batted .321 with 34 home runs and 130 runs driven in.

The 34-year-old has surpassed double digits in home runs in ten of his 13 major league seasons and has hit 30 home runs in three seperate seasons. In his career, Morneau is batting .281 with a .348 on-base percentage and has hit 241 home runs. This season in 27 agmes with the Rockies, Morneau is batting .290 with three home runs and nine RBI.
