Hi, what are you looking for?

8th Inning Run the Difference.

The Yankees beat the Pirates three to two because of a run in the 8th inning.  As a team they only had 5 hits in 27 at bats.  While they only had five hits they walked seven times compared to five strikeouts.

Austin Aune again had the best day at the plate as he went one for three.  His one hit was a triple to go along with two runs scored and a walk.   It has been a breakout season for Aune who had to show his million dollar bonus wasn’t a fluke.  Scouting reports have backed up. It will be interesting to see what they do with Culver and Aune.

Jorge Alcantar and Ericson Leonora both went one for three.   Jorge’s hit was a homerun while Ericson’s was a double.

Chris Breen went hitless in four at bats but he caught two players stealing while only allowing one to steal on him.  But he did allow his 7th pass ball.

Cory Arbiso continued his rehab by going one and a third innings today.  He allowed two hits that led to an earned run.  He did strike out a batter to go along with one groundball to two flyball outs.

Angel Rincon went four and a third innings and allowed no runs.  He did allow a hit and three walks but did strike out five batters.  Rincon allowed two flyball to two groundball outs.

Rony Bautista closed the game out by going one and two thirds inning.  He didn’t allow a hit, walk or strikeout.  He got his outs by one a caught stealing to one groundball to three flyball outs.

Tomorrow is the last game as the Yankees will go to the Pirates complex for a 10 am eastern start time.
