It did not take long for flame throwing Yankees prospect Domingo Acevedo to earn his first victory of the 2015 Arizona Fall League season. In just his first appearance out of the bullpen for the Surprise Saguaros he struck out 2 batters, allowed 2 hits and did not give up a run or a walk, while throwing 27 pitches, 20 of them for strikes.
Domingo was one of four New York Yankees prospects to appear in the game, with catcher Gary Sanchez, first baseman Tyler Austin and second baseman Tyler Wade all getting the start at their respective positions.
Sanchez has played in all three games for the Saguaros this season and has registered a hit in each game. In his first at bat in the bottom of the second inning he struck out swinging, then in his second at bat he beat out a ground ball to the shortstop for a single. Gary then popped out to the shortstop in his next at bat before hitting a sacrifice fly to the outfield in his final plate appearance on the game. Over all he was 1-for-3 with 1 RBI in the game.
Tyler Austin was also 1-for-3 in the game, he also came around to score and worked a walk. After grounding out in his first at bat he would line a single to left field in his second. He moved to second on a force attempt and then scored when Tyler Wade laid down a sacrifice bunt and the catcher committed a throwing error. Wade went to second on the throw and eventually made it to third but was left stranded there to end the inning.
Surprise kept the Mesa SolarSox out of the run column with the shutout, allowing 5 hits.
