New “Voice of the RiverDogs” comes from the Arizona Fall League
CHARLESTON, SC – Charleston RiverDogs General Manager Dave Echols has announced that Dan Acheson, the Arizona League’s communications assistant and broadcaster, has been named the club’s new director of broadcasting & media relations.
A 2010 graduate of Emerson College of Boston with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in marketing, public relations and advertising, Acheson replaces Sean Houston, who held the position for three years before leaving for a marketing position in Austin, Texas.
“We’re excited to announce Dan’s hiring as our new director of broadcasting & media relations,” said Echols. “He has proven himself through his previous work to be an up-and-comer in the business, and we are pleased to have him as part of the RiverDogs Family.”
Prior to joining the Arizona Fall League, Acheson worked for the Portland (ME) Sea Dogs as the assistant director of broadcasting and media relations in 2014. He also enjoyed stings are the radio broadcaster and media/public relations manager for the Lakewood BlueClaws (NJ), Portland Sea Dogs (2102) and the Daytona (FL) Cubs.
Acheson’s broadcasts of all 140 games, home and away, will be heard on WTMA, now in its second season of serving as the flagship home of RiverDogs baseball. Game audio is also streamed for free online at www.RiverDogs.com and Acheson’s audio also accompanies the RiverDogs streaming video of all home games on the MiLB.tv network.
