BURLINGTON, N.C. – Catcher Austin Afenir and first baseman Matthew Duran each had two RBIs, and right fielder Kendall Coleman had two hits as the Pulaski Yankees (24-18) notched an 8-5 Appalachian League win over the Burlington Royals (19-22) before 496 fans at Burlington Athletic Stadium.

Lefty Nestor Cortes allowed three earned runs over five innings to record his third win in five decisions. Righty Brody Koerner earned his fourth save.

The teams will conclude their series at 7 p.m, Thursday, after which the Yankees will travel to Danville for three weekend games against the Braves before stepping in Bluefield for a game Monday before returning home to face the Blue Jays.
