Afenir, Katoh, Sweeney Pace Pulaski; Rosa 4-0

PULASKI, Va. – Catcher Austin Afenir had three hits, while Gosuke Katoh, and Kane Sweeney, hitting his second in two nights, homered, pacing the Pulaski Yankees (14-9) to a 10-3 win over the Burlington Royals (12-11)  before 2,063 fans at Calfee Park Thursday night.

With the victory, Tony Franklin’s club retained its spot in a virtual tie for first place in the Appalachian League East, with the Princeton Rays.

Right-hander Adonis Rosa, who allowed three runs and seven hits over five innings, pushed his record to 4-0, 3.00 with the run support.

The teams will conclude their three-game series at Calfee Park at 7 Friday evening.
