All-Around Effort Paces Thunder

TRENTON, NJ –  The Thunder struck for four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and got strong pitching from Vicente Campos to take a 7-4 victory over the Harrisburg Senators on Tuesday night in front of 4,984 fans at ARM & HAMMER Park.

Miguel Andujar, making his Double-A debut, doubled to put runners at second and third with one man out in the fifth inning. Kyle Higashioka followed with a two-run double to left center to take a 4-2 lead for the Thunder. Later in the frame, Lane Adams singled in two more runs and against Reynaldo Lopez.

Lopez allowed six runs, one earned, on nine hits and two walks in 4.2 innings while striking seven.

Vicente Campos earned his second win of the season with 6.2 strong innings on the mound. Campos struck out five of the first nine men he faced and finished with nine overall in his outing. He allowed four runs on six hits and one walk  Tuesday night.

Dante Bichette Jr. reached base four times in the victory, walking twice and singling twice. Andujar (2-for-5, RBI, two runs scored) nearly widened the lead to an insurmountable depth in the eighth inning with a fly out to deep center field that appeared to have home run distance. Dustin Fowler also added an RBI single in the victory.

J.R. Graham and Jonathan Holder retired each of the seven men they combined to face – with Holder striking out the side in the ninth inning.
