Tyler Austin, who has remained a key player for the Scorpions, contributed a run in tonight’s game. The Scottsdale Scorpions played the Peoria Javelinas, in a close game that went into an eleventh inning, but resulted in 3-4 a loss.
A prospect-packed line up featured Austin, along with players, Aaron Judge, Dante Bichette Jr., and Kyle Higashioka. Austin batted second in the Scorpions line up, and connected for one of his four at bats. Austin found himself playing left field.
Judge was the Scorpions designated hitter, batting 1-4, resulting in an RBI. Bichette also contributed an RBI, and batted 2-4, playing as the Scorpions third baseman, while Higashioka was tonight’s catcher, going 2-5 in his at bats.
In the top of the third inning Austin singled on a ground ball to center field. Judge was up next, connecting for a double on a fly ball, bringing home Austin for his only run of the night.
Pitcher, Kyle Haynes entered the game in the seventh inning. He faced six batters, letting up two hits and two runs.
The Scorpions return to play Monday, October 20, against the Glendale Desert Dogs at 6:35 p.m. MST. The Scorpions will play as the home team.
