A terrible first inning ruined the Yankees chances of winning as the Yankees lost to the Jays five to three. As a team the Yankees went 6 for 33 with only three walks. As a team the Yankees struck out 12 times out of 27 outs. Not a good day.
Offensively only Austin Aune had a good day. He went two for three on the day with a double and a walk.
Joseph Maher started the game and didn’t get out of the first inning. He only went two thirds of an inning and allowed six hits. Those hits along with a walk that he issues resulted in five earned runs. This bad outing raised his ERA to 5.64.
Chaz Hebert had the best outing today. He went four innings while only allowing two hits. Five strikeouts came in those four innings to go along with six GO outs to one FO. This was a great outing for Hebert who has dominated all season long.
2012 draftee Dayton Dawe went two innings today and struck out two guys. He also got the ball down in the zone as there were three GO to one FO. Good start kid.
Tomorrow the Phillies come to the complex for their noon meeting.
