Beltran Goes Hitless as T-Yanks Fall to Stone Crabs 2-0

The Tampa Yankees were able to pull off the 5-1 win against the Charlotte Stone Crabs on Thursday night but the bats weren’t as hot on Friday as they fell to the Crabs 2-0.

RHP Rookie Davis (ERA 3.10) took the start for the T-Yanks working eight innings allowing two runs on four hits; striking out nine batters.

Charlotte got on the board in the top of the fourth which started with back to back singles by Andrew Velazquez and Pat Blair. Willy Adames then hit a sac fly to center field to send Velazquez home. A solo homerun on a fly ball to left field by Mike Marjama for the two run advantage.

RHP Tyler Wood took the start for the Stone Crabs pitching seven shutout innings allowing just three hits; striking out four batters and earned the win.

New York Yankees outfielder Carlos Beltran made another rehab appearance with the Tampa Yankees, playing right field and going 0 for 2 and walking once.

The Tampa Yankees had just three hits on the night by Tyler Wade, Dustin Fowler and Dante Bichette.

The Tampa Yankees will take on the Charlotte Stone Crabs on Saturday night at George M. Steinbrenner Field.
