Tampa Yankees’ third baseman Dante Bichette Jr. was selected as the Florida State League’s Player of the Week for the time period from May 19th until May 25th, 2014.
Though Bichette has had solid outings so far this season, it was the 5/23 game that really set him above the rest. In the games throughout this time period, the 21 year old had a .357 batting average along with three homers and and 13 RBIs. Bichette is considered among the best prospects in the New York Yankees Minor League System. In his latest appearance with the T-Yanks on 5/25 he was 2 for 5 with a homer and 2 RBIs.
So far this season Bichette has maintained a .291 avg. in 48 games with 6 homers and 30 RBIs ( second most on the team).
He was drafted by the New York Yankees in 2011 while playing at Orangewood Christian High School and he spent the last two seasons with the Charleston RiverDogs.
