Billy McKinney Named International League Batter of the Week

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders outfielder Billy McKinney has been named the International League’s batter of the week for the period from July 24th – July 30th.

McKinney, 22, hit .440 this past week, leading the league in extra-base hits (6), runs batted in (9), and a .920 slugging percentage.

The Dallas, Texas native’s week was highlighted by a 4-for-5 performance on Friday night against the Charlotte Knights, where he collected two triples and six RBI’s. In the three-game series against the Knights, Billy went 8-for-13 with a grand slam and another home run.

Since earning a promotion from the Trenton Thunder (Double-A) in late June, McKinney is hitting .347.
