Bird Homers Twice In Scorpions Loss

Greg Bird continues to shine in the AFL. Despite a Scorpions loss, the Yankees prospect connected for two home runs in his four at bats, earning three RBI’s.

Bird played first base, while prospect, Dante Bichette Jr. held his third base position. Bichette went 1-3 in his at bats. Tyler Austin played right field and batted 0-3.

Bird’s first run of the game came in the top of the 4th. With Scorpions player, Brandon Nimmo on second, and Bird at bat, the two would make it home after Bird homered on a fly ball to center field.

In the top of the sixth, Bird did it again, making contact for another home run to center field.

The Scorpions return to play tomorrow tonight against the Glendale Desert Dogs. The game beings at 6:35 p.m. MST, and the Scorpions will play as the home team.
