Bird Remains Hot In Scorpions Loss

Greg Bird remains a key contributor after a tough loss for the Scottsdale Scorpions. Batting fourth in the lineup, Bird made contact for two in his four at bats, which included a double and contributed a run late in the game.

The Yankees prospects helped to keep a tight infield with Bird playing first and Dante Bichette Jr. at third. Bichette batted seventh, going 0-3 and earning an RBI.

Tyler Austin found himself in right-field and went 0-4, batting sixth.

Bird was first at bat in the top of the seventh, doubling on a line drive to right field. Next at bat was Austin who earned a single, advancing Bird to third. Bird scored the first run of the game after a sacrifice fly to right field from Bichette.

After two walks, Bird and Austin found themselves on base in the top of the ninth but after a double play and a line to right field, the game ended in a 11-2 loss.

The two teams play again tomorrow at 6:35 p.m. MST with the Scorpions as the away team.
