Bluefield Hands Pulaski Shutout Loss

BLUEFIELD, W. Va. – A trio of Bluefield Blue Jays pitchers, led by starter Juliandry Higuera, who threw five scoreless innings, were the key to a 4-0 Appalachian League win over the Pulaski Yankees before 705 fans at Bowen Field Thursday night.

Andrew Guillotte homered off Pulaski’s Jhon Morgan and scored three times to pace the Blue Jays (5-5). Jesus Aparicio had a pair of hits for Pulaski, which dropped to 4-6. It also did not help that Pulaski committed four errors.

The teams meet again in Bluefield at 7:05 p.m. Friday before they both hop on the bus to Pulaski for a game at 4 p.m. Saturday in Calfee Park.
