In a surprise selection the Atlanta Braves selected left-handed pitcher Evan Rutckyj in the Rule V draft. Rutckyj, 23, split the 2015 season between the Tampa Yankees and the Trenton Thunder as well as represented Canada in the Pan Am Games.
In 2014 Evan moved from the rotation to the bullpen and has since flourished. This past season he was 3-2 with a 2.63 ERA for the Yankees minor league teams, using a 3-pitch arsenal. His fastball has been in the low-90s since moving to the pen and follows that up with a change up and slider.
