The Trenton Thunder, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, have a pair of roster moves to announce prior to Sunday’s game against the Erie SeaWolves.
- LHP Caleb Smith (left hand) from 7-Day DL
- Giovanny Gallegos to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre
Smith has been placed on the Disabled List twice this season with a left hand injury, spending time inactive from May 5-May 15 and May 16-May 24. He has made just one start for the Thunder since May 4 prior to Sunday’s scheduled start. In six games started this season, the 23-year old is 1-3 with a 6.26 ERA in 23.0 innings pitched.
Gallegos returned to the Thunder Saturday after being placed on the 7-Day DL May 15, retroactive to May 14. His lone appearance with the Thunder came May 13 at Portland and he was removed with an injury after just 11 pitches. When the right-hander appears in a game with the RailRiders, it will mark his Triple-A debut.
With the moves, the Thunder roster remains at the Eastern League maximum 25 players.
