Chasin’ 28 Episode 20: Yankees Hit Slide In Florida

On this episode of the Chasin’ 28 Podcast, Ricky Keeler, James O’Connell, and Alexis Farinacci spend the bulk of the show highlighting the New York Yankees’ unsuccessful road trip as they went 2-4 against the Tampa Bay Rays and the Toronto Blue Jays.

After giving their initial takeaways from the series, the trio discusses whether or not it is time to panic about the team’s struggles or are they going to be ok in the long term?

Plus, how could the Yankees fix some of their issues in the short-term since no significant roster moves can be made until many months from now. Should Jay Bruce no longer be the first baseman? Should Clint Frazier be the everyday left fielder? How should the Yankees fix the lineup, if anything?

After doing another edition of 3-Up, 3-Down from the road trip, they look ahead to the weekend series against the Tampa Bay Rays and discuss the rivalry between the two teams after the Rays were not happy that Jordan Montgomery threw inside Sunday. The Yankees will also play an Atlanta Braves team that is currently 4-8 after 12 games.

Finally, the trio examines whether or not the new rules changes for the Atlantic League could eventually work in Major League Baseball, whether it is moving the mound back or taking the designated hitter away after the starting pitcher is taken out of the game. Then, they give their Final Thoughts.
