Clarkin Added to Yankees Arizona Fall League Contingent

The New York Yankees announced that left-handed pitcher Ian Clarkin will be added to the roster of the Surprise Saguaros of the Arizona Fall League.  Clarkin is joining lefty pitchers Tyler Webb and Chaz Hebert as well as catcher Gary Sanchez, shortstop Tyler Wade and outfielders Dustin Fowler and Tyler Austin.

Clarkin, 20, was one of the Yankees three first round draft picks in the 2013 draft that also included Aaron Judge and Eric Jagielo.  He did not pitch at all during the 2015 season as he was rehabbing all year due to an elbow inflammation.  The injury was not severe enough to warrant surgery.

In 2014 Ian was 4-3 with a 3.15 ERA between the Tampa Yankees and Charleston RiverDogs, striking out 75 batters in 75 innings pitched.

With the addition of Clarkin to the New York Yankees Arizona Fall League representatives the Bronx Bombers now have 1 open spot to send an additional pitcher.
