Key Story:
Rookie Davis got the start and wasn’t good today. His line today was four innings of work, five hits and five walks. All those baserunners came around to score as he gave up four runs. Davis is a sleeper in the organization. He was drafted because of his arm strength with the hope that he could develop some secondary pitches.
Captain Clutch of the Game:
Abiatal Avelino is the easy choice for the game award. He went four for four with two doubles with an RBI. This game will boost Avelino over .300 on the year. Coming into the night he was a wRC+ of 103. Not bad for a 19 year old in his first real full season assignment and he is 2.4 years younger then the average player.
Golden Sombrero of the Game:
Tyler Wade almost had a golden sombrero as he went hitless in four at bats with three of them being via the strikeout.
