De La Cruz to the Bronx; Lail Added to Roster

The Trenton Thunder, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, have made two roster moves prior to Monday evening’s game against the Akron RubberDucks.

RHP Joel De La Cruz, who was the scheduled starter in Tuesday’s game, has been signed and selected to the New York Yankees 25-man roster. De La Cruz tossed three hitless innings out of the bullpen in relief of Miguel Sulbaran Friday night in his lone appearance out of the Thunder bullpen this season.

In a corresponding move, RHP Brady Lail has been transferred from High-A Tampa and is expected to start Tuesday in place of De La Cruz. Lail’s first appearance will be his Double-A debut, after his impressive first start of the season with the T-Yanks. In Tampa’s season-opener Thursday, Lail allowed four hits over five shutout innings against the Lakeland Flying Tigers and struck out nine in the victory.

With the roster move, the Thunder active roster remains at 25 players.

The first home game at ARM & HAMMER Park is on Thursday, April 16. Single-game tickets, season tickets, group outings, Pic-A-Plans, and Mini Plans are on sale now. For more information about promotions and tickets, fans should call 609-394-3300 or visit trentonthunder.com/tickets.
