In the first game the Yankees dominated the West Virginia Power as they beat them by the score of seven to two. As a team they had 11 hits in 26 at bats to go along with T two walks compared to only four strikeouts.
Best day is hard to pick since multiple guys had very good games. Casey Stevenson probably had the best game as he went two for four with a triple. He scored two runs and had four RBI’s.
Other guys with good games in game one were Robert Refsnyder who went one for two with two runs scored. Dante Bichette went one for three with a run, RBI and a strikeout. Ben Gamel went two for four with a run scored.
Brett Gerritse pitched three innings yesterday as the game was suspended. To say he was dominate is not giving him enough credit. He pitched three innings without giving up a run while striking out five of the nine batters he faced. Those other outs came on groundballs. What also is impressive is that he only threw 35 pitches in those three innings.
Phil Wetherell came in and pitched four innings to complete game one. He allowed two runs that weren’t earned on two hits and one one. He also had the strikeout pitch going as he struck out three batters.
As dominate as the Yankees were in game one they were just as bad in game two. They got beat by the Power by a score of seven to one. As a team they only got 2 hits in 22 at bats to go along with two walks against four strikeouts.
Robert Refsnyder went one for two with a double and a walk. That was the best line in game two for the Yankees.
William Oliver got the start and went two innings. He allowed an earned run on a hit and walk while striking out three batters.
Rigoberto Arrebato got hit around as he only went two innings. Arrebato allowed four hits with two walks that led to five earned runs.
Daniel Mahoney finished the game as he went three innings. Mahoney allowed three hits which led to a run as he struck four batters outs.
Tomorrow the Dog will play at seven pm eastern time.
