The game was cancelled due to weather last night. When they came back and played it today the Yankees were winning but the Pirates scored a run in the 9th to tie it. The Yankees scored a run in the 11th but blew the lead again by allowing two runs. A final score was nine to eight over the 11 innings. As a team they knocked out 14 hits in 42 at bats. They also walked six times against nine strikeouts.
A couple big days were had which is easy to do when they play extra innings. Greg Bird started at 1st base and ended up playing 7 innings yesterday. He ended up going two for three with a walk and a run scored.
Yeicok Calderon went three for five and had the best day of the group. Calderon walked but one of his hits was a double.
Chris Breen went one for three with two walks. Breen allowed two stolen bases but did catch one guy.
Angel Rincon got the started and his line was easy as he went one inning and struck out all three baters.
Rony Bautista pitched three and two thirds innings today. He allowed five hits and three walks that led to three earned runs. Bautista did strike out five guys thou but the command problems are a bit of concern.
Yoely Bello pitched two and a third innings and had a blown save. He allowed three hits that led to an earned run.
Game two wasn’t as close as game one as the first one as they lost eight to two. They only got four hits total which isn’t what you typically need to win.
Austin Aune had the best day as he went one for three with a walk and RBI.
Pedro Feliciano started the game on the rehab train and went one inning with a strike out and two groundballs.
Giovanny Gallego didn’t fare so good as he went three innings. He gave up seven hits which led to five earned runs, six runs overall.
Rookie Davis finished the game off by going two innings. He struck out two during that time while allowing two hits. He didn’t allow any runs thou which is always good.
The Yankees will take on the Braves at noon time tomorrow.
