Early Runs Enough in Tampa Victory

Key Story:

Two runs in the first was enough as the Yankees strung together some hits and walks that lead to the early lead.   Then Eric Wooten did his best bend but don’t break as he went six innings and only allowed one run.  He allowed eight hits and one walk so he was in and out of danger all night long.

Captain Clutch of the Game:

Angelo Gumbs was the one that got the key hit in the first inning that plated two runs.  That was his only hit during three at bats but it was one that really counted. On the season he is hitting .317/.338/.365 for an wRC+ of 109.  Gumbs needs to keep this up to start to recapture his prospect status.

Golden Sombrero of the Game:

Reymond Nunez had a status of a sleeper prospect a few years ago.  This hasn’t been his year as today he went zero for three with two strikeouts.
