Hi, what are you looking for?

Early Runs Not Enough for Charleston Win

Key Story:
Charleston put together ten hits as a team yet only plated three runs.  This happens when you go zero for fifteen with runners in scoring position.  As a team the Yankees stole five bases also.  Big fail for the offense today especially when the pitchers didn’t seem to have it.

Captain Clutch of the Game:
Abiatal Avelino played the best.  He went one for four with a walk but stole two of the five Yankee bases today.  On the season his slash line of .300/.440/.400 is very good.  He has only struck out twice to four walks which is a trend he showed last year also.  The 19 year old could make a jump into most top tier Yankee prospect lists with a good season.

Golden Sombrero of the Game:
Andrew Benak, he came in to the game with it being tied and gave up three runs on six hits during his three innings of work.  Not what you want your guy who is backing up Rookie Davis to do.  Now in Benak’s defense he did strike three out and didn’t issue a walk so his line wasn’t all bad.

Up Next:
Severino looks to bounce back after a very bad start of the season against Augusta.  First pitch is at 6:05 pm.
