Errors Cost Riverdogs

Key Story:

Ian Clarkin got the start today and had his defense really hurt him.  Clarkin went six innings and allowed three runs but only one of the runs was earned.  He struck out four batters and kept the ball on the ground as he got eight groundball outs compared to five flyball outs.  So far in his 2014 season Clarkin has a 1.15 ERA in fifteen  and two thirds inning.  He has struck out fourteen and only walked two batters which both happened in one gate.

Captain Clutch of the Game:

John Murphy had a very good game as he went two for three with a walk and run batted in.  Murphy also had a stolen base which was his seventh on the year.

Golden Sombrero of the Game:

Miguel Andujar hasn’t had the season a lot of people thought he was going to have.  Tonight didn’t help.  He didn’t go hitless as he went one for four.  Problem for him is he had two errors that cost Clarkin some runs and contributed to the lose.

Up Next:

The Riverdogs take on Hickory again at seven.  No starting pitcher has been announced yet for the Dogs.
