Earlier today Jacob Lindgren announced on Twitter that he had signed a major league contract with the Atlanta Braves. The former Yankees second round draft pick was recently non-tendered by the Bronx Bombers.

Lindgren only pitched in six games in 2016 and underwent Tommy John surgery in August. He is expected to miss the entire 2017 season.
In 2014 the New York Yankees drafted Lindgren in the second round of the First-Year-Player Draft with their first pick of that draft. He reached as high as Double-A that season. In 2015 he split the season between the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders and the New York Yankees. In the majors, he owns a 5.14 ERA over seven games. In the minors, he has a 4-2 career record with a 1.83 ERA in 54 innings, striking out 85 batters, living up to his nickname of “The Strikeout Factory”
