Franklin Returning to Pulaski for Second Tour as Manager

Veteran minor league manager Tony Franklin will return to the Pulaski Yankees in 2016 as their manager according to sources.

Franklin managed the P-Yanks last season in their first year as a Yankees affiliate and led the team to the Appalachian League playoffs.

Franklin began his managerial career in 1982 with the Geneva Cubs of the NY-Penn League. He remained the Geneva skipper until after the 1985 season. In 1986 he made his debut in the Appalachian League as a manager with the Wytheville Cubs.

From 1989-1993 he managed in the White Sox organization before taking a post as the San Diego Padres infield instructor from 1996-2006. In 2000 he briefly managed the Las Vegas Stars.

In 2007 Tony joined the Yankees organization as the manager of the Double-A Trenton Thunder. He led the Thunder to 3 Eastern League championship titles in his 8 years there. Last season was his first season as the Pulaski Yankees manager, making a return to the Appalachian League.
