GCL Team 1 a win, a lost for Team 2

GCL Team One

Key Story:

This team is having the players rehab and two key Yankee prospects had key roles today.  Eric Jagielo went one for two with an error as he continues to rehab and get back to High A.  Gave Encinas is working his way back from Tommy John surgery and he pitched today.  He went three innings, striking out three batters and allowed four base runners, two by both walk and hit.

Bichette/Katoh Award:

Bryan Cuevas went one for three with a triple and scored the only run on the day.

Mateo Watch:

He went hitless today in four at at bats with a strikeout.

GCL Team Two

Key Story:

While team one typically has the offense it wasn’t today as team two had 11 hits in 37 at bats and they still lost.  It’s hard to lose when you score 10 runs but that is what happened.

Bichette/Katoh Award:

Allen Valerio had himself a great day.  He went three for four with a double, a triple, two runs scored and two RBI’s along with a walk.  Great day for the youngster.
