New York Yankees minor league catcher Juan Graterol went 2-for-4 with a double, run score and an RBI but Aguilas del Zulia fell to Navegantes del Magallanes in Venezuela Winter League action.
Juan’s first hit came in the top of the second inning when he sent a ground ball into right field for a double. His second hit came in the top of the fourth inning when he hit a sharp line drive to left field for a RBI double. Graterol was one of three Yankees minor league players to appear in the game for Zulia, the others being Francisco Arcia and Ali Castillo.
Castillo batted lead-off for Aguilas del Zulia, playing shortstop. He went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a walk in the game. Ali started the game off reaching on a fielding error by the Magallanes second baseman and made it all the way to third after a single and another fielding error. He would however remain stranded there in the first inning after three quick outs. His walk came in the top of the fourth inning and his only hit was a sharp line drive single to left that also scored a run.
In the top of the seventh inning Francisco Arcia came into the game as a pinch-hitter and prompty sent a soft fly ball to left field for a double in his only at bat of the game. He would end the inning being stranded at third.
