Grice Walks Off in Yankees Win

Key Story:

The Yankees gave up a bunch of runs early.  Brett Gerritse wasn’t great and the Yankee offense had to come back and they did.   After tying the game in the 7th Tampa put together a good rally with Bichette and Gumbs getting on base via hits.  Grice knocked in Bichette to win the game after having the guy in front of him intentionally walked.

Captain Clutch of the Game:

Bichette has started to hit a lot better especially compared to what he did the last two years.  On the night he went two for two with two runs and two walks.  Coming in to tonight Bichette .267/.450/.400 slash line which is good for a wRC+  of 166.  Need to see some more slugging but this is what he really needed to get back on track.

Golden Sombrero of the Game:

Brett Gerritse didn’t have a great game.  He went five innings and did strike out four guys both not too bad.  Now onto the bad.  He gave up thirteen hits and a walk.  Fourteen base runners is not what you want in two games let alone one.  Gerritse did limit the damage somewhat as he only allowed four of those fourteen base runners to score.
