Right-handed pitcher David Sosebee was selected by the New York Yankees in the 28th round of the 2015 Draft out of the University of Georgia. Sosebee is one of those picks that does not have a lot of fanfare but could become a solid contributor.
During David’s college career he split time between the rotation and the bullpen for the Bulldogs, appearing in 37 games and starting 21 of them. This past season was easily his best when he struck out 55 batters in 54.1 innings and had a 2.98 ERA. The last two summers he played in the New England Collegiate Baseball League spending most of his time in the rotation for the Keene Swamp Bats. Long-term he will likely find himself in the bullpen. He lost some time in his junior season due to a spinal cord constriction, only noticing it after his legs went numb. He managed to return to the mound in less than a month of surgery.
