With their No. 129 overall pick in the fourth round of the 2020 MLB draft, the New York Yankees selected right-handed pitcher, Beck Way from Northwest Florida State Junior College. Way also played in the Cape Cod League, which as he will discuss in this interview, helped him gain recognition for the 2020 MLB draft. Way was ranked as Baseball America’s 84th best prospect in the 2020 MLB Draft, MLB Pipeline’s 99th overall prospect, Fangraph’s 78th overall prospect, and The Athletic’s 83 overall prospect.
Pinstriped Prospects Beat Writer, Alexis Farinacci had the opportunity to interview Beck Way virtually via zoom. Prior to starting the interview, Beck had just gotten back from his training in his hometown of Pennsylvania, along with a West Virginia baseball player he is hosting, Jackson Wolf, and that is where Alexis picks up with the interview.
Pinstriped Prospects (Alexis Farinacci): Good afternoon, how did training go?
Beck Way: Good, I just got back.
Pinstriped Prospects (Alexis Farinacci): Which player are you hosting?

Pinstriped Prospects (Alexis Farinacci): How’d you guys end up hooking up?
