The Tampa Yankees were back at Joker Merchant Stadium on Tuesday night to take on the Lakeland Flying Tigers. The T-Yanks’ bats were on fire as they defeated the Tigers 14-2 which included a Grand Slam by top prospect Aaron Judge.
LHP Dan Camarena (ERA 2.52) took the start for the Yanks pitching a solid six innings allowing just six hits and one run to the Tigers.
Tampa got on the board first with an early 2-0 lead, the first with an early 2-0 lead, Dante Bichette helped tack on run number one with a RBI double and then a one run double by Jose Rosario tacked on run number two. In the top of the fourth, Tampa took a 4-1 lead. But, it was the top of the seventh that the T-Yanks were able to tack on seven more runs which included Aaron Judge’s second Grand Slam of the season with no outs.
With a thirteen run lead, Tampa’s RHP Kyle Haynes (ERA 3.26) allowed a solo homerun to make it a 14-2 ballgame. RHP Nick Rumbelow (ERA 2.66) then closed out the ninth inning with just one hit allowed, striking out two batters.
Camarena earned the win and advances to 5-4 on the season as the T-Yanks are now tied for second place in the FSL North Season with the Daytona Cubs (8-4).
The Tampa Yankees will take on the Lakeland Flying Tigers in the next game of the series on Wednesday night at 6:30pm .
