LHP Conner Kendrick (ERA 2.45) took the start for Tampa as they took on the Fort Myers Miracle in the third game of the series on Monday evening. Kendrick’s solid outing in which he didn’t allow a hit until the bottom of the fourth with 2 outs, led the T-Yanks to the 8-2 victory.
In the top of the 4th the Yanks took a 5-0 lead which began with a single by Matt Snyder with Zach Wilson on base. A RBI single by Jose Toussen sent Wilson home to score the first run of the game. Wes Wilson hit what was supposed to be a sac bunt, but a throwing error by Fort Myers’ David Hurlburt sent Snyder home, advanced Toussen to third and allowed Wilson to reach first. a 2 run triple by Cody Grice then sent Tampa to 1 4 run lead and finally a sac fly by Cito Culver sent Grice home.
Kendrick ended up pitching 6 innings allowing 3 hits and struck out 5 batters; advancing to (2-2) on the season.
The final game of this four game series at Hammond Stadium in Fort Myers will take place at 7:05pm on Tuesday evening.
