Kyle Haynes Set to Join Trenton on Monday

TRENTON – The Scranton Wilkes Barre RailRiders placed left-handed starter Dietrich Enns on the disabled list on Saturday afternoon after leaving his start on Friday night with shoulder discomfort.

Following Saturday’s defeat to Portland, Thunder Manager Bobby Mitchell said that 26-year old right-hander Kyle Haynes will be joining Trenton from High-A Tampa on Monday. Mitchell acknowledged that one of his players would be leaving but was not yet aware who that was as of Saturday evening.

Haynes, 28, has been with the organization since he was traded to the Yankees from the Pittsburgh Pirates in December 2013.  In five minor league seasons, he owns a 20-28 record with a 3.86 ERA and 359 strikeouts in 419 2/3 innings.  The last two seasons he split his time between the Trenton Thunder and the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.  He began this season in extended spring training but was transferred to the Tampa Yankees on April 13.  He started one game for the Tampa Yankees, throwing four shutout innings.
