Key Story:
Brady Lail went seven innings without giving up a run as the Riverdogs beat Green jackets. Lail can really increase his stock this year with good performance and keeping his stuff up. Lail came out of HS with a projectable body with good secondary offerings and the hope that he would grow into his frame which would add velocity. The Yankees thought very highly of him since they sent him to High A Tampa last year to make a spot start. On the year he has a 5.49 ERA to go with a 3.31 FIP. A solid K per 9 of 7.78 helps that along with his walk rate of 2.28 per 9.
Captain Clutch of the Game:
Miguel Andujar edges out Aaron Judge for the top award. Andujar had his best day of the season today when he went three for four with two doubles. He kniocked in three RBIs and scored two runs. Andujar has the potential to be the top prospect in the Yankee system within a year because of his performance and age. He will play his this full season as a 19 year old.
Golden Sombrero of the Game:
Michael O’Neil had two strikes out on his zero for four day. For a college guy he sure strikes out a lot and a lot of people believe his ability to not make contact will haev him stall out in the top minors.
