Late Runs Doom Yankees

The Yankees allowed a run in each of the last three innings of the game to lose to the Tigers by the score of 8 to 7.  As a team they knocked out 12 hits in 35 at bats.  As a team they drew 3 walks against 13 strikeouts.

Austin Aune had a great day at the plate but a bad day in the field.  He broke out of the funk he was in to go three for four on the day.  He knocked two doubles out of his hits to go along with a RBI and run.  Defensively it wasn’t a great day as he had three errors.

Mikeson Oliberto went two for four with a run and a strike out.

Luis Niebla got the start and went two innings and they weren’t quality innings.  He allowed four hits but no walks yet those four hits led to four earned runs.  He did strikeout three batters to go along with three groundball outs to two flyball outs.

Kenedy Agramonte pitching an inning and the defense didn’t help him.  He allowed two hits and one unearned run.  Agramonte struck out two batters to finishing his line.

Cesar Vargas finished the day off by going three innings.  He allowed five hits that led to three runs with two of them being earned.  Vargas struck out three batters and got four groundball outs to finish his line.
