Moosic, Pa. – The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) are excited to officially announce that they are hosting a Yankees Legends Game and Father’s Day BBQ on Sunday, June 21 at PNC Field. The Yankees Legends Game will be honoring 1978 World Series champion Brian Doyle, and a portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit Parkinson’s disease research. All fans will receive a commemorative game ticket as well.
The game will include Yankees Legends playing against each other, and Yankees fans and members of the NEPA community will have the opportunity to play in the game and participate in once-in-a-lifetime experiences by making donations to Parkinson’s disease research.
“This is a one-of-a-kind event,” said RailRiders interim GM Jeremy Ruby. “We are starting a new tradition with the combination of the Yankees Legends Game and Father’s Day BBQ. This event will allow families to share their love for baseball and their passion for the Yankees with each other in a unique way.”
The Yankees Legends Game comes the day after the New York Yankees host their 69th-Annual Old-Timers’ Day in the Bronx. The full roster of participants will be announced shortly but more than 25 Yankees Legends are confirmed including Roy White, Charlie Hayes, Gene “Stick” Michael, Ron Blomberg, Jesse Barfield, Jeff Nelson, Homer Bush, Graeme Lloyd, Oscar Gamble and Hector Lopez, a Yankees World Series champion in 1961 and 1962.
Gates will open at 12:30 p.m. in advance of a 2:05 p.m. first pitch. Ticket prices include: Bleachers/Lawn/Standing Room- $10; Field Reserve/RailHouse – $20; Infield Box – $30; Mohegan Sun Club Level – $40; VIP Tickets – $150 (includes game ticket, VIP meet & greet and post-game cocktail reception).

The day will also include a post-game family BBQ that will start at 3:30 p.m. in the Kost Tire Pavilion and will expand to the Oak Grove Deck after the game. Wristbands will be given with tickets to all fans purchasing the BBQ in addition to their game ticket. Advance-sale BBQ prices will be $25 for adults, $12 for children 12 and under and children under two are free.
Live bands will set a festive atmosphere before and after the game. The post-game party will include field access for games of catch, whiffle-ball games and photos in the team dugouts. Player jerseys will be available for online bidding in advance of the game. Jersey winners will have the chance to meet the individual player whose jersey they just purchased immediately following the game. Proceeds from these sales will benefit Parkinson’s disease research.
