Media Reaction to Yankees Pick

I saw Kaprielian a few times this year, and he pitched with an average fastball most of the year, working at 89-91 and bumping 92. But he has more arm strength, as Frankie suggested, and his secondary command really sets him apart. So does his makeup — one of those guys who goes out of his way to say hello and make conversation when he sees you around the park. Adam Plutko and Gerrit Cole were like that, too. UCLA gets a lot of quality kids to come to school there.

JJ Cooper from Baseball America.

Keith Law ESPN.  His take is why Yankees went with pitcher at 16.

Kiley McDaniel who surprisingly isn’t on twitter but doing an epic draft chat at Fangraphs.

Comment From felix p
will Yankees save some money on Kaprielian for later round?
Kiley McDaniel
don’t think so, he was supposed to go right about there.
Frankie Piliere from D1baseball.com had this to say.
Yankees going for the instant gratification type pick. Kaprielian is going to be a mid rotation guy with 4 pitches and command. He touched 95 mph late in the year.
