MiLB.com’s Position Player Rankings: Yankees Tabbed The Best In Baseball

Over the past week, MiLB.com has been giving their in-depth analysis on all 30 farm systems around Major League Baseball. Thursday they released their top-10 position player rankings, and the Yankees were given the number one spot.

According to MiLB.com, the rankings are based “specifically on position player prospects and considers the quality and quantity of top talent in each system in its current state”.

The article notes that New York’s system was in pretty good shape prior the Andrew Miller and Aroldis Chapman trades, but now with the additions of Clint Frazier and Gleyber Torres, the future for the Bronx Bombers looks extraordinarily bright.

Below are the Yankees top-50 ranked position players:

Gleyber Torres, SS (#3)

Clint Frazier, OF (#24)

Blake Rutherford, OF (#37)

Aaron Judge, RF (#45)

Jorge Mateo, INF (#47)

Other notable prospects that were mentioned in the article are Dustin Fowler, Miguel Andujar and Tyler Wade.

This is certainly an exciting group of young prospects, and all but Blake Rutherford could reach the Major Leagues by the end of next season. These young talented prospects have scouts, front office staff and media members raving about the Yankees system. Fans should be incredibly excited, as this is the best the organizations farm system has ever been in franchise history.
