Kelsie Heneghan of MiLB.com published an article yesterday that ranks the New York Yankees organization third overall in prospects “who will be 21 or younger on Opening Day” this season.
The article cites that the number of top prospects in this age category within the Yankees organization are not high in quality, but the quality of the players they do possess far exceed the talent in other systems.
Heneghan mentions Gleyber Torres, Blake Rutherford, Jorge Mateo, Justus Sheffield, and Albert Abreu as the standout Yankee prospects under the age of 22.
The Yankees only trail the Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Dodgers, who were ranked first and second respectfully.
