Mitchel Strong in Dogs Win

The Charleston Riverdogs tried to play two today against the West Virginia Power but Issac didn’t allow that to happen.  The Dogs did get in the first game in  before the second was suspended due to rain.  They beat the Power three to zero in a seven inning affair.  As a team the Dogs had 8 hits in 25 at bats to go along with no walks compared to five strikeouts.

Best day at the plate goes to Ben Gamel.  Gamel went three for three with a double and a run scored.   With those hits Game is now hitting .304/.338/.395.  Offensively he is the best player on the Dogs team that wasn’t promoted to Tampa.

Dante Bichette, Robert Refsnyder, Ali Castillo and Eduaro Sosa all went one for three today.  Refsnyder hit a homerun while Castillo had a double.

Bryan Mitchell got the start and went six innings.  He only allowed two hits to go along with two walks.  While that is good for Mitchell he only struck out three batters.  Mitchell got nine GO to two FO which helped him get two double plays.  I would have liked them to push Mitchell since he only threw 60 pitches for his six innings.  Out of those 60 pitches 37 were strikes for a 61.66% strike ratio.

Pedro Guerra came in and pitched a perfect seventh for the save.  He got all his outs via the groundball.
