The other day the folks over at MLB Pipeline released their updated Top 100 prospects list and updated Yankees Top 30 prospects list.
It comes as no surprise that the Yankees placed six players on MLB Pipeline’s updated Top 100 prospects list with shortstop Gleyber Torres being ranked the highest at #2 overall behind Yoan Moncada and Amed Rosario.
The next Yankee on the list at #27 is outfielder Clint Frazier. Frazier, 22, has been strong since making his major league debut with the Yankees on July 1 hitting .290/.306/.871 in 69 at bats. Right-handed pitcher Chance Adams came in at #62 overall, while outfielder Dustin Fowler was at #78.
Outfielder Estevan Florial has opened a lot of eyes this season, and it shows by him being placed at #90 on MLB Pipeline’s list. The final Yankee on the Top 100 is left-handed pitcher Justus Sheffield who comes in at #93.
Former Yankees prospect Blake Rutherford was listed at #45 on the Top 100. Rutherford was traded along with Tito Polo, Ian Clarkin, and Tyler Clippard to the White Sox for Todd Frazier, Tommy Kahnle and David Robertson on July 19, 2017.
I do like our list. My personal next five: Bradley, Andujar, Chavis, Garrett, Mateo. @Indians @Yankees @RedSox @Marlins #Top100Prospects https://t.co/cswHr6iiHS

In a tweet MLB’s Jim Callis noted that he had Yankees third baseman Miguel Andujar and Jorge Mateo in his next five. He theoretically placed Andujar at 102 and Mateo at 105 overall.
In no surprise Torres, Frazier, Adams, Fowler, Florial, and Sheffield make up the top six in the organization according to MLB Pipeline’s updated rankings. They follow it up with Tyler Wade, Jorge Mateo, Miguel Andujar and Domingo Acevedo in the Top 10.
Right-handed pitcher James Kaprielian fell to the #12 spot in the organization after undergoing Tommy John surgery and missing all of the 2017 season. Jorge Guzman was listed at #14; the right-handed power thrower has proven to be a solid prospect for the Yankees.
At 316 on the list is 2017 second round pick, a right-handed pitcher, Matt Sauer. He was followed by first round pick Clarke Schmidt at #17 on the Yankees Top 30.
