Austin Romine, Eduarto Nunez and Joba Chamberlain all got their rehab work in today as the Yankees fell to the Phillies four to two. Overall it wasn’t a great day offensively as the team had 5 hits in 31 at bats. They had no walks today and struck out 11 times as a group with Yeicok Calderon accounting for three of those strike outs.
Joba started the game off and got his inning of work in. He struck out two batters and the other out was a groundball variety. Joba will move up to High A Tampa to pitch next. Glad he’s on his way back
Coming in after Joba was Rony Bautista. The 6’7” Dominican lefty went five innings today and allowed two runs on four hits. Bautista struck out six of his batters today while only issuing one walk. He also had an impressive six groundball to three flyball outs.
Eduarto Nunez started his rehab assignment and played three innings in the field today. No errors on the error prone shortstop. He only had one at bat and didn’t get a hit.
Austin Romine played five innings today up from the other day when he played three. At the plate he went one for two today with a double.
Austin Aune who replaced Eduardo Nunez went one for three. He had stolen base and an RBI. Aune is one of the most intriguing prospect on the team right now.
Nathan Mikolas hit his first professional homerun in his three at bats. Mikolas has been struggling with pro ball, he probably need this hit more then most.
The Yankees will take on the Tigers tomorrow at their complex as noon eastnern.
