No Rain And a Win But Also a Lost

Rain had washed out two games this week but that wasn’t the case today.  The Yankees beat the Pirates at the Yankees complex today.  With a score of six to four the Yankees were able to overcome two errors on that win.  As a team they went 9 for 26 with only three walks to only three strike outs.

A couple guys had good games today as Miguel Andujar and Christopher Breen both went two for three today.  Breen had a double with two RBI’s but did strike out once.  Breen did allow a stolen base thou.

On the pitching side we only had two pitchers throw in the first game.

Cesar Vargas pitched four innings and got hit around a little.  He gave up seven hits to go along with a walk and strike out.  He allowed four runs with three of those runs being earned.  He got six GO to six FO when he did get his outs.

Luis Niebla pitched three innings and struck out three batters today.  He only allowed one hit and didn’t walk any on in his innings.  Niebla got the ball down today as he got five GO to only one AO.

In game two the Yankees lost to the Pirates by a score of four to one.  The Yankees only got three hits today with only two walks while striking out five times.

Abe Almonte, Austin Aune and Yeicok Calderon all went one for three today.  Aune and Abe both struck out while Calderon hit a home run and struck out.

Pitching wise Angel Rincon started it off and went three innings.  He allowed three hits that lead to two earned runs.  While he struck out only one he did get ever other out on the ground.

Caleb Frare allowed four hits in his two and two thirds inning of work today.  He also didn’t walk any guys but got two strike outs to Rincon’s one.   He also got the ball down by getting two groundball outs.

Tomorrow they will go to the Braves complex for their noon game.
