O’Neil Walks to win it

MiLB3

Michael O’Neil has had an up and down season so far in his first full season after being drafted.  But on this night he is a hero to the Riverdogs.  A walk walkoff is always a very nice way to win it.  It helped that the game was in extras also.

Captain Clutch of the Game:

No hitter earned this award.  That is what happen when there is nine hits total between both teams.   Jaron Long was very good and probably had his best start as a professional.  He went seven innings long and only gave up three hits.  While he only struck out five guys, he did get nine grounball outs compared to four flyball outs.

Golden Sombrero of the Game:

Mikeson Oliberto gets this award but really Michael O’Neil could get this too as they had the same line except for the walk that won it.  Oliberto went hitless in four at bats to go along with three striekouts.

Up Next:

Luis Severino will take the mound tomorrow as he continues his brilliant first full season debut at 7 eastner time.
