MOOSIC, PA – The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) collected 10 hits on the night, but managed one run in a 2-1 setback to the Pawtucket Red Sox on Wednesday night at PNC Field. The loss dropped the RailRiders (17-17) to .500. The Red Sox (16-17) have won two straight over SWB.

The loss spoiled another solid outing for Richard Bleier (1-1). The left-hander limited Pawtucket to a pair of runs on five hits over seven quality innings. He walked one and struck out three. Joe Kelly (1-0) notched the win for the Red Sox. The Major League rehabber held the RailRiders to a run on five hits over five innings.

Blake Swihart launched Pawtucket out front with his first home run of the season. The two-run jack soared over the left field wall with one out in the fourth.

Aaron Judge plated the only run for SWB in the fifth. Jake Cave, making his 2016 debut with the RailRiders tripled to center with two outs and scored on a double to center by Judge.

Rob Refsnyder finished the night 3-for-4 to extend his hitting streak to 15 games. He has reached safely in 19 straight. Both are the longest, active streaks in the International League.

The RailRiders turn to right-hander Brady Lail (0-0, 9.82) on Thursday night to try and salvage a split of the four-game series. He will oppose left-hander Roenis Elias (0-2, 4.71). It’s “Thirsty Thursday” at PNC Field with a first pitch set for 6:35 p.m. For tickets or more information, please call 570-969-BALL (2255) or visit swbrailriders.com.
