Pinstriped Performances – Thursday, April 6, 2017

Check out the top performances across the New York Yankees farm system in the latest edition of Pinstriped Performances.

Tampa Yankees (Single A Advanced)

Tito Polo – Tito went 3-4 with a double to open the season. Polo collected the lone run batted in for the Tampa Yankees when he singled on a fly ball to right field in the bottom of the 6th inning. He was acquired late last season from Pittsburgh in the Ivan Nova trade.

Jordan Montgomery – Monty started the game for the Tampa Yankees and responded by firing five scoreless innings. He struck out nine, walked one, permitted three hits and allowed an un-earned run. This start was the first of two, in a competition with Chad Green to become the fifth starter in the major league rotation.

Charleston RiverDogs (Single A)

Blake Rutherford – Rutherford made his full season debut for the Charleston RiverDogs on Thursday. Last year’s number one pick reached base three times in four at bats. Blake went 1-3 with a run scored and two walks.

Albert Abreu – Abreu came in the game to relieve RiverDogs starter Nick Green. He tossed four innings of one run baseball. Albert struck out six, walked one, and permitted three hits. The only run scored off Abreu came on a solo home run by Lexington Legends right fielder Khalil Lee in the top of the 7th inning.
