Hurricane Ida left a path of destruction up and down the East Coast, wiped out Wednesday’s entire slate of games, and left the Patriots’ home ballpark underwater. Somerset, on the road this week, joined Hudson Valley in playing two games on Thursday as a result.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (59-42): Scranton mounted a spirited rally in the ninth, but fell 5-3 to Buffalo, who also leapfrogged them in the standings as a result.
- Star of the Game: Matt Krook – 5.1 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 5 K, 85 pitches (51 strikes). Krook was extremely unlucky to take the loss in this one
- Gleyber Torres: 1-for-3. Torres was supposed to report back to New York for tomorrow’s game. He was removed from this contest after being hit on the hand by a pitch and his status is unclear
- Greg Allen: 1-for-4, 1 triple, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 strikeout
- Rob Brantly: 1-for-3, 1 double, 1 RBI

Somerset Patriots (61-43): The Patriots defeated Bowie in the first game of their twin bill 3-2, then lost the nightcap 7-4.

Hudson Valley Renegades (63-41): The ‘Gades were thoroughly outclassed in Greensboro, getting swept in a doubleheader 10-7 and 2-0.

- Anthony Volpe: 2-for-4, 1 home run (11), 1 double, 2 RBI, 2 runs scored, 1 strikeout. Volpe trails only Dermis Garcia in homers in the Yankees system, with 25 in total on the year
- Elijah Dunham: 1-for-4, 1 home run (7), 2 RBI, 1 run scored
- Matt Sauer: 5.1 IP, 4 H, 3 R (2 ER), 3 BB, 7 K, 85 pitches (55 strikes). Sauer’s High-A career has consisted of three very good starts, including tonight’s, and two very bad ones thus far

Tampa Tarpons (67-35): The Tarpons took a 6-5 lead into the bottom of the eighth and then served up a four-spot, eventually losing to Bradenton 9-6.
- Star of the Game: Trey Sweeney – 2-for-5, 1 home run (5), 1 triple, 2 RBI, 1 run scored. Sweeney is picking up right where he left off after a strong August
- Jasson Dominguez: 0-for-4, 1 run scored, 1 walk

FCL Yankees (18-13): The scheduled matchup between the Yankees and Phillies was postponed until September 14.
DSL Yankees 1 (19-16): The Yanks rode some timely hitting and a lockdown relief performance to a 7-3 win over Phillies Red.
- Star of the Game: Donys Garcia – 4.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 9 K. The 20-year-old Venezuelan is carrying a 2.39 ERA
